12 Semanas de Música - 2/12

Para a minha 2ª semana, escolho a música “We are the World”, lançada em janeiro de 1985, como parte do projeto “USA for Africa”, que visava arrecadar fundos para o combate à fome na África.

Para mim, essa canção (que tinha a participação de grandes nomes da música mundial como Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner e Diana Ross, e alcançou um sucesso estrondoso) tem cheirinho de infância e me traz uma deliciosa recordação: eu e mais dois primos adorávamos nos apresentar para toda a família cantando essa música no inglês altamente macarrônico das crianças de 5 anos de idade que éramos na época. Ficávamos de pé na escadaria da casa de meus avós e cantávamos aos berros, nos sentindo super importantes e altamente colaborativos para a causa africana. Uma graça!
